Mega Flip-it!
Attaching the Mega Flip-it!
With your left hand, center the reflector panel on
the side (short dimension) of your flash for use
without a bracket or on the back (long dimension), for
use with a camera bracket. Stretch the band way out with
your right hand, then wrap around the flash and stick the tab down
on the outside of
the stretch strap. Don’t worry, you can’t break it or wear out
the elastic. Press the velstretch down all around the flash with
your fingers.
Mounting on the back of the flash is suggested for use on a camera bracket, off-camera on a light stand or held by an assistant. For use on a hot-shoe, mounting on the side of your flash is suggested so that vertical shots may be done as well as horizontal, as shown below.
Positions
The use of different reflector angles is the same for Mega Flip-it! as any other size Flip-it! For use in portraiture as a directional main light off-camera, and close to your subject, the slightly back (skimming) and vertical positions are preferred. For on-camera use, please note the following suggestions: As with any other Flip-it!, the reflector may be flipped back (off) for either direct flash or bouncing the ceiling or wall with no added reflector bounce.
Set
the reflector slightly back for close-ups anywhere or medium
shots in a room with a ceiling. Vertically for medium shots
in a high-ceiling room or outdoors. Forward for full-length
and groups in high ceiling room or outdoors up to 18'.
Storage
The Mega Flip-it! folds flat for storage in your camera
bag. If you like, you may take the reflector off the base and store
them in different parts of the bag.
