Attaching the bracket to the camera--> Place the camera on its left side so it is stable on the flat surface. Hold the bracket in your left hand and the camera attachment screw in your right hand and screw the bracket into the bottom of the camera. Tightening the camera screw: Do not over-tighten.

Camera and bracket on flat surface

<-- When not in use, the camera and bracket may be placed on a flat surface as illustrated.

Correct hand position for changing the angle of the flash on the bracket

----> Warning: Correct hand position for changing angles

The TTL cord is vulnerable to breakage if the flash is pushed or slapped when changing angles. Canon TTL cords are especially vulnerable to excessive torque. For safety, grasp the cord when changing angles.

Adjusting the hinge tension: The hinge has been designed with a stabilizer bar to keep the tension constant and to prevent "flopping". The tension may be adjusted periodically to your taste with any wrench. Look at the wrench as you tighten or loosen the nut, and adjust only a tiny bit at a time to your taste.
